Windows tip: If you need to quickly switch views in a folder, you can easily click through the different view options in the Explorer toolbar. Or, as reader creeront points out, you can simply hold the Ctrl key and spin your mouse wheel.
Did you know that holding Ctrl and scrolling the mouse wheel on a Windows Explorer window causes the window to scroll through the various view types—e.g. details, large icons, small icons, etc?
Ctrl+scroll wheel is a common way to zoom (this also works in Firefox and Chrome, for example), but it’s a nice little shortcut for zooming and quickly switching between views in Explorer too. This probably won’t change your life, but it’s a nice shortcut worth adding to your toolbox.
