If you have some pipe left over from your last DIY project, you can easily turn it into a fun lawn game with some creative sawing and painting.

Team Saturday, a division of This Old House focused on fun weekend projects, has a great tutorial on how to turn some left over drain pipe into a fun lawn game. You’ll need some 4-inch drain pipe, a mitre saw, a drill and some zip ties as well as some spray paint and stick-on mailbox numbers to pretty it up and add values to the various pipes.

When you’re done you’ll have a triangular rack of pipes of varying heights that are quite tricky to successfully sink a lobbed tennis ball into. Check out the video above to take a peek at the build and the surrounding antics involved in its construction, or visit the link below to see a detailed step-by-step build guide with pictures. Have a fun weekend project to share? Let’s hear about it in the comments.

  • My attention barely lasted through this video let alone making, painting and playing this “game”. Stick with a tried and tested version of boules or anything but this cheap carnival shenanigan.
