If you have a little old TV set that’s just collecting dust, give it some new life by ripping it open, inserting a light build and turning it into a nice retro picture frame.
Mid-century Modernist blogger Baz took apart an old Sony TV and created a nice piece of found art for the home. The modification is actually pretty simple. All you need to do is remove the TV’s guts and replace them with an old socket and power cord from a light fixture. Screw in a low-wattage CFL bulb (to avoid any heat issues) and insert a printed image into the screen. Close it up, turn it on, and now you’ve got a fun retro picture frame.
