Windows only: The strongest feature of the foobar2000 media player is its customisations and extensibility — it can look and feel like anything one can imagine. The latest beta makes managing customising “components” easier with simple installations and automatic updates.
Installing components in foobar2000 has been simplified to grabbing a ZIP package from the foobar2000 directory or a third-party site, hitting “Install” in the Components section of preferences, then pointing at the ZIP file. Most supported components, too, will automatically push their updates into your player, leaving you to just sit back and enjoy your highly personalised media playing experience.
The foobar2000 1.1 beta is a free download for Windows systems only. Foobar2000 betas will expire after one month’s time though, so you’ll likely have to grab the next version once it’s available to stay on the cutting edge.
