If you’re looking for a few good blogs to follow on a certain topic, Google’s Blog Search might not, oddly, be the best place to look. Instead, use the drop-down, left-side box to single out blog homepages in search results.
The exact process is to search, then hit the “More” link in the left-hand column, choose Blogs, then select the “Homepages” link that appears at left. That way, you get a search of the general content area and most recent posts from the blogs that Google tracks, so you can start building a collection of feeds, bookmarks, podcasts or whatever you’d like. It’s a recent addition to Google’s search box and a pretty nice feature that’d be nice to see in the stand-alone Blog Search product, too.
