In consumer culture, it's easy to accumulate more stuff than you actually need. If you feel overwhelmed by all your stuff, minimalist blogger Francine Jay has several suggestions on how to turn it around.

While some suggestions are on the more extreme side — such as ditching your couch — you might be surprised by how many things you own that you've just assumed you needed. Calling the validity of your possessions into question can be a good way to stay on top of clutter and ultimately get you out from under the mountain of things you don't really need.
