What's Your Favorite Single-Use Tool?

An organised, non-cluttered home isn't supposed to have many, if any, of them. But weird, single-use tools, be they bacon flippers or niche office supplies, are sometimes irreplaceable by common tools. We want to hear why you love your own esoteric items.

There are certainly niche tools worth laughing at, including everything in the Unclutterer blog's Unitasker Wednesday series (Look! A soda can grip!) and almost everything you see on TV that asks if you're "tired" of some normal human experience. But there are also some great tools out there that do a particular job better than anything else out there. For food science whiz Alton Brown, for instance, rice makers and melon ballers make good sense, as do waffle irons.

But beyond the kitchen, there's software that does one very niche thing well, hardware tools that make your occasional repairs easier and other stuff you've probably heard people ask you to get rid of. So if you love something you own and want to justify its existence, by all means: tell us about it, and why you love it, in the comments.

I bought an omelete maker about 6 months ago. I use it 2-3 times a week and love it. Great for a high protein brekky that tastes way better than cereal.
