We told you how you could buy the Android-bearing, keyboard-toting Xperia X10 Mini Pro from Sony Ericsson outright for $629 earlier this month. If you'd rather get it on contract, Vodafone has slightly sweetened its existing 24-month caps by offering a free 1GB of data a month for the first year for customers who sign up for the phone.
As our Planhacker Android table highlights, you don't normally get 1GB of data from Vodafone until you hit its $79 cap, so that's a potential attraction if you plan a lot of on-phone browsing but not so much calling. The cheapest available cap equates to a $696 minimum price, which isn't much more than the outright buy price and looks like good value considering it includes call and data credits. If you're comfortable with a contract and considering Android, it's worth adding to your shortlist.

It's only 1Gb free for the first 12 months.
And I knew that, and missed it. Fixed now.
Spoke to vodaphone yesterday. To get the free 1gb internet/month for the first year, you must sign a $10/month data plan for the second year of the contract.
