If the traditional shape of bird baths doesn't catch your eye, but you'd still like a watering station for your flying friends, this clever IKEA candle holder turned bird bath might catch your eye.
Karen, at the DIY and design blog The Art of Doing Stuff, was unimpressed with the inexpensive bird baths at her local home and garden store. With bird baths on the brain, inspiration struck while looking at an IKEA candle holder. When inverted the candle holder formed an irregular and organic looking bowl perfect for a bird bath. Three dowels inserted into the spots the candles should have been made perfect and sturdy legs and the above bird bath was born.
