On Monday I gushed about Simplenote and the joy of editing the same text documents on any computer, iPhone, iPad or other device that plugs into the Simplenote API. On Monday, when I wrote the post, there wasn't a Simplenote client for Android. Now there are actually a couple.
The first is mNote, a free, ad-supported Simplenote client (pictured above). It's young, and could still use some polish, but it works, which is the important part. Another client launched today called SolidNote that appears to have some of the polish mNote lacks, but it's also 1 pound (about $1.70). Either looks like good start if you want to edit and create plain-text notes on your Android and have the sync seamlessly to between your device and your desktop.
You can find either in the by searching the Android Market; for a quick shortcut to mNote, point your bar scanner at the QR code to the right.
