Mac only: Growl, the universal notification system that's one of the first Mac apps you should install, has updated with a lot of bug and behaviour fixes, including better handling of spoken notifications and email behaviour.
You can read the full list of changes at the version history, but the majority of changes are fixes and process improvements. Notable among them though, are the automatic detection of when you add plug-ins to Growl's plug-in folder, boosts to the Safari and iTunes implementations, and lots of attention to memory usage and extensibility. You might also notice that GrowlMail is now a separate package, and its been removed, as such, from the Extras folder.
If you're a fan of Growl, download this update, which is free and for Mac systems only. If you're not a fan of Growl, we have to wonder why — and feel free to tell us in the comments, of course.
