Get Back The Old Google Image Search With A URL Hack

If you're not happy with the new Google Image search and would prefer to stick with the old search as your default, Lifehacker reader The_Doc offers this simple URL tweak.

The new search has a Switch to basic version link at the bottom of the page, but it doesn't stick, so if you prefer the old view, you'll have to scroll all the way down there every time.

If you don't like the new Google Image Search design, add:

&sout=1

to the URL to use the the "basic" (i.e. old) version. Update your bookmarked keyword searches accordingly.

So for example:

http://images.google.com/images?q=puppy

...would become:

http://images.google.com/images?q=puppy&sout=1

I LOVE you. The new Google Image search is horrible to look at, difficult to use, and it slows down by computer. I was prepared to switch to another provider with a USABLE interface, but this works too. Thank you!

Easier solution, just use google.com.au, the new image search isnt there yet
