Roller blinds are cheap—as cheap as blinds come—but they’re on the ugly side. Ditch the boring and ugly vinyl by upgrading it with colorful fabric.
At the design blog Design*Sponge they put together a great tutorial on taking apart a cheap roller blind and replacing the boring vinyl with bold fabric that compliments your decor. You’ll need roller blinds, medium-weight fabric, a workspace to spread out on with the proper tools to square and cut your fabric—L-square or yardstick and a cutting mat with sharp rotary tool or razor—an iron and a sewing machine. When you’re done you’ll have an inexpensive splash of colour and visual interest where dull white blinds used to hang.
