After you’ve been at your job for awhile, it’s easy to get complacent. Productivity blog WebWorkerDaily suggests kicking up your motivation a notch with a little friendly competition.

Competing with coworkers not only improves the overall performance of the work/project in many instances, but by having someone to compare yourself against, it will highlight your strengths and weaknesses. WebWorkerDaily says that:
Competition may lead to collaboration. While this may sound antithetical, in my experience a healthy amount of competition can help expose your weaknesses and strengths as much as your competitors’. If you find a way to work together, you can help compensate each others’ weaknesses and build on both your strengths.
This idea goes right along with the idea we’ve covered that withholding information and collaborating less with coworkers hurts productivity.
