Windows: Got a whole bunch of music files scattered across your hard drive by various media apps? Similarity can find duplicate music files using file names, metadata tags and even audio analysis, and makes it easy to get rid of them.
Operation couldn't be more simple — choose the folders, hit the Play-style button, and click over to the Results tab to see what's been found. You can choose how Similarity looks for music dupes, and enable the "experimental algorithm" if you think you've got more obscure copied file programs than can be found through normal means. The app can look at MP3s, Apple audio files, lossless FLAC files and more.
Similarity is a free download for Windows systems only. Once you've cleaned out your folders, be sure to whip your music's metadata into shape to prevent further dummy file pile-ups.
