Chrome: If you're a big fan of the bookmarking/web clipping service Instapaper for your read-it-later needs, you'll be excited to try out Instachrome. It brings simple navigation bar integration of Instapaper to Google Chrome.
After installing Instachrome and linking it to your Instapaper account you'll be ready to start saving articles from Chrome to Instapaper for later reading — if you're unfamiliar with Instapaper you'll definitely want to check out their main site and the tips and tricks we've shared for using it here.
The default setup is to not show the popup menu seen in the screenshot above but to have a click of the Instachrome icon automatically save the article and confirm with a little green "OK" on each click. If you want to see the popup menu for more detailed interactions make sure to "enable popup" in the options menu. The Instachrome extension makes it easy to save pages, view in text mode, and view your unread, starred and archived items all from the Google Chrome navigation bar. Instachrome is a free tool — which requires a free Instapaper account too! — and works wherever Chrome does. Thanks GFontenot!
