Build A True Vertical Garden For Space-Saving Greenery

Aside from looking super-neat, vertical gardens are space-efficient gardens that you can place in nearly any home that has a window. DIY site Instructables has a nifty guide on how to scrape one of these gardens together.

There are creative ways to set up a garden in your home, like using a shoe rack to create a makeshift vertical garden. With just a little bit of time and effort, it's not hard to create a more authentic and productive vertical garden.

Among the tools you'll need is a drill, hammer, screwdriver and saw. Some sort of iron frame, along with pieces of wood, plastic, jute cloth, plats, and screws will also be needed to piece the vertical garden together. The process involves putting the frame together, and then filling up the frame with soil and water. For more detailed instructions, be sure to check out the article below.

The vertical solution in this blog is all professional and expensive-like, but I reckon it could be knocked up fairly nicely with some treated (i.e. painted) MDF.

I love the idea that the actual planting happens on the wall itself, not the ground below...
