Windows 7's Font settings panel has one feature that you might have overlooked: the ability to hide fonts that you don't really want to see, without completely uninstalling them.
The 7 Tutorials blog points out that hiding fonts is quite easy — just head into the Fonts panel under Control Panel, find the fonts you don't want to see anymore, and click the Hide button. Once you've done so, you won't see those fonts anymore when using a font picker in any application, but they won't be completely uninstalled either, just in case an application is using them internally. It's a simple but useful tip for anybody that wastes a lot of time skipping past the same fonts, but doesn't necessarily want to delete them either.
