Chrome: If you’re a fan of previously reviewed Firefox add-on YouTube Cinema, you’ll want to grab a copy of Turn Off The Lights for Chrome to enjoy the same screen-dimming focus for video, document editing and more.
Install Turn Off The Lights in Chrome and a small light bulb will appear in the address bar. Whenever you’re on a compatible site — Turn Off The Light works on YouTube, sites with HTML5 video, Google Docs and a variety of other sites — when you click the light bulb everything but the key area of focus will dim. The screenshot above shows Turn Off The Lights dimming YouTube for focus on the video.
Turn Off The Light is free and works wherever Chrome does. Have a favourite Chrome add-on? Let’s hear about it in the comments.
