Blogger Mike Vardy says a great dinner is made of of several parts — from entree to dessert — and each component is important in its own way. Meetings should be approached in the same way; everyone who attends brings something unique to the table.
Vardy reminds readers that while the CEO might be the centrepiece of the dinner, er, meeting table, it's important to recognise folks at the middle management level, too. Like dishes at a dinner party, without them, everything's a sloppy mess.
The right dishware is critical to a good meal and the right management are imperative in order to make sure things are properly handled. Not everyone is going to be right for the same tasks every time out, but if you know when and where to utilise these people you'll have a far easier time managing things.
