A bouquet of mixed flowers looks great in a single vase as it was intended. Still, you can get more from pricey bouquets and spruce up your whole home by splitting one bundle into multiple vases.
If you're looking for a cheap way to add fresh flowers to every room in your house without breaking the bank, Redbook magazine has a great tip. Instead of buying individual bouquets for each room, buy a large mixed bouquet from your florist (or supermarket) and split it up into smaller vases to sprinkle colour thorough out your home. They offer this advice on making your own arrangements:
Start with one flower that combines two hues - such as the red and yellow carnation - then add a few blooms of varying textures and heights in the same shades, says New York City florist Rebecca Cole.
You'll be able to mix and match with ease, matching flowers to appropriate vase—another set of tips covered by Redbook. If you swing by your local home or craft store you can pick up a pack of bud vases for cheapand really spread out your flowers.
