Party-going is tough when you don't know anyone. Then there's those awkward "Crap! I can't remember your name" moments. Be a good host and print out some customised name tags to hand out to guests at your next bash.
FreeNameTags is a nifty little website filled with name tag templates that are free for the taking. Helpfully categorised by occasion and use, you can find tags for everything from baby showers to book clubs.
Once you find a name tag you like, you can download it as a DOC-formatted template and open it with most any word-processing software, including Microsoft Word or OpenOffice.org. You can also download a PDF version and pop it open in your PDF reader of choice.
The name tags are pre-formatted to print on Avery 5395 Name Badge Labels, and measure 2-1/3 x 3-3/8 inches, but you can just as easily print tags out on plain, heavy-stock paper and cut them apart with scissors. Pop them into badge holders purchased at your local office supply store, or simply affix them to clothing with small safety pins. Your guests will thank you for saving them the embarrassment of calling someone by the wrong name.
If the idea that you'd need name tags at a party seems a bit cold, we understand — but that doesn't mean you won't find a good occasion to use something like FreeNameTags for some occasion, so it seems worth a bookmark, at any rate.
