Woodworking enthusiast Matthias Wandel didn’t want a keyboard with a numeric pad, but all the keyboards he found without numeric pads had keys in odd places, or didn’t feel right. He opted to take the guts out of his current keyboard and remove the numeric pad by hand, rebuilding a case for the reduced-size keyboard. Being who he was, his medium of choice was, of course, wood.
