YouTube XL Supersizes YouTube For Your TV

Many people are sporting HTPCs these days — media computers hooked up to their televisions — but some sites are designed like you're sitting at your computer desk not on your living room couch. YouTube XL makes YouTube couch-friendly.

YouTube XL presents common YouTube options in a large display format for easy navigation without having to read a tiny font from your couch 3m away. You can quickly navigate to spotlighted, top rated and most viewed categories. Clicking on "More..." also gives you quick access to rising videos, most favourites, most discussed and more.

You can also set the next video in your search results or viewing category to start playing when the current one ends and filter out content not suitable for minors. If you've been annoyed by the tiny fonts and buttons when trying to use YouTube in a living room setup, YouTube XL is a great way to access YouTube in a couch-friendly format.

Have another great site or tool for accessing streaming video from the comfort of your living room? Let's hear about it in the comments.

from a couch... as long as you use a mouse. Wow, how convenient. Have they heard of this thing called a 'remote control'? It was invented in like the 70s

maybe you are still living in the 70s.
they make media keyboard now you know?

all your needs in one small area.. plus i can stash a spliff next to the batteries slot!!! can your remote do that?

I've been loving the YouTube plugin for XBMC lately. But it doesn't look anywhere near as pretty or easy to use as this XL site.

marztar - Wow, a whole keyboard. Talk about convenience. And by the way, to use this particular youtube menu the keyboard won't work, you need a mouse. So, buy a keyboard with a built in touchpad, or a separate mouse.

My, my, you've sure shown me.

While it does feature a rather pretty interface for lounge room use, I've found it significantly slower to use than plain ol' YouTube. The PS3 defaults to the XL version too. Faster to plug the laptop in to the plasma and watch it that way. @:-/
