There's been a lot of controversy surrounding Apple and their practice regarding the iPhone App Store, like multiple app bannings (including the Google Voice fiasco), inconsistent rules, and a lack of communication with developers.
A few days ago, Apple decided to take a step in the right direction concerning the latter point (albeit a small step), giving developers the ability to see the status of their submitted apps. When they log into the Dev centre, they can see if their app is "in review", "waiting for review" or "ready for sale", complete with a timestamp for when that status was updated. It's very simple and, like I said, a small step — but hopefully a step in the right direction, nonetheless. Now let's just get Google Voice approved already.
