Sheath Your Liqour In Ice To Keep It Cool

How can you keep your liquor cold without watering it down? Sheath the bottle in ice so the booze stays icy-cool fresh without dilution.

Pure alcohol freezes at -114C, pure water freezes at 0C. Combine the two in various ratios and you get varying freezing points — run-of-the-mill 80 proof vodka, for example, freezes at around -35C which is significantly colder than the freezing point of water. How can you roll that tidbit into something to bust out at gatherings? Watch the video below:

Sure you could just keep your high-proof liquor sitting in your freezer, but for those times you're away from the kitchen and want to keep your liquor chilly with a bit of flair, the ice-wrapped bottle is tough to beat.

Have your own novel way of presenting your liquor and drinks? Let's hear about it in the comments below.

Frozen Bottles! [Instructables]

Generally, especially when making cocktails, the addition of ice is supposed to dilute the drink, it softens the bite of the alcohol and allows people to taste the full flavors of the drink. Those spirits that are better drunk undiluted such as very good tequilas are also better drunk at room temperature anyway.

A Freezer is not complete without a bottle of good vodka sitting in it.
