Mac OS X Snow Leopard Ships August 28th

Previously thought to be set for a September release, the folks at Apple have decided to speed things up a bit, announcing today that Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard will ship this Friday, August 28th.

The upgrade will cost $39 (Australian) for new users, or you can have a five-user, single household "family pack" for $69. For a quick overview of what's to come from Snow Leopard, check out our hands on with the developer preview (though most of the video has been taken down). While we're here, let us know:

Give us your thoughts on the upgrade (excited or bored with the update?) in the comments.

All this coverage for a paid service pack?

I mean sure, cover it, but man, you guys are kinda ramming it down our throats. It's about as interesting as a windows service pack (read: mildly)
