We've shown you how to tie ties in the past; now you can apply this knowledge and turn a tie or a scarf into a personal cooling system.
Sarah at Small Object Steno Pad, a blog with some great DIY tutorials, has instructions on how to turn an accessory into a functional cooler. The secret is in water absorbing crystals sewn into small pockets made at the back of a tie or scarf. Just three-quarters of a teaspoon of this magical compound (available at most craft stores) is enough to keep you cool for hours. And the best part? They're entirely reusable. Just soak the neckwear in water for a few hours to "recharge"
