Too Much Facebook Might Ruin Your University Grades

unitimeFile under we-all-thought-so-but-here’s-the-proof-sort-of: if you spend too much time on Facebook, your results are probably going to suffer.

Lauren Wilson at The Australian reports on a US study of 219 students which found that 68% of students using Facebook had a lower grade-point average than those who didn’t use Facebook. Note that the figure isn’t 100%, and there’s no direct correlation claimed: since almost a third of students managed to use Facebook while maintaining good results, that might well have more to do with individual discipline than with Facebook itself. Do you think Facebook is a help or a hindrance when it comes to study? Share your experiences in the comments.
