Kiki Sucre’s Top 10 Dancing Tips For Amateur Strippers

Kiki Sucre is a Brisbane-based model and dancer who has worked at some of Australia’s most exclusive strip clubs. We recently caught up with her at Sydney’s Sexpo Exhibition where she shared her extensive dancing tips with Lifehacker. The following advice is chiefly aimed at amateurs who want to dance seductively for their partners in the bedroom. As such, it’s probably NSFW. (You have been warned!)

#1 “Fake it ’till you make it!”

“You need to fake it ’till you make it. Not in terms of orgasms, but in terms of confidence. That was the first thing I was told when I started dancing and it’s the best piece of advice I ever received. When you act confident, you eventually feel confident. If I’m feeling nervous — which is hardly ever — I do the whole “imagine the audience in their underwear” trick. This is ironic, because I’m usually wearing a lot less than that, but it still works!”

#2 Work with what you’ve got

“Any girl can strip seductively, but the moves that look the hottest depend on the girl. There are some girls who can do that whole twerking and ass-shaking thing, but this can look pretty ridiculous if you’re a little skinny white girl with no butt. Don’t make your booty the focus if you don’t have one. Instead, you need to make the most of your own assets. That said, you can still “pretend” to a certain extent. Like, I will totally motorboat you, but I don’t have huge boobs so I won’t make that the main attraction.”

#3 Watch ‘n’ learn

“Go to a strip club! Watching other girls and learning from them is the best way to get good at stripping. Study their routines and pick the moves you like and that you think you can do. If you don’t feel like going to a strip club, I’m sure the internet can help you out here.”

#4 Stripping is sexy. Language is sexier.

“If you’re not the world’s best dancer, use your mouth — and I don’t mean in the way you’re thinking! Basically, a girl can dirty talk her way out of any situation. This is especially true if you’re dancing for your partner because you can say absolutely anything; there are no boundaries or rules in your own bedroom.”

#5 Have a “party trick”

“A good way to get started is to follow a skill you already have — build on it and perfect it. Once you get really awesome at it, everyone will be like “damn, that chick can flex her butt muscles really well, or knows how to shimmy really well.”

#6 Don’t bite off more than you can chew

“While you need to act confident, don’t try to do things that are above your level. It’s better to be really good at basic things than really shit at hot things. It’s not like in Master Chef where the cook stuffs up something super-complicated but still get points for trying. Once the mood has been killed, it’s nearly impossible to get it back. You’ll just end up embarrassing yourself and might end up injuring you and your partner.”

#7 Use props to your advantage

“Unlike a stage, your bedroom probably isn’t going to have a stripper pole. But you can still use plenty of props to make your act sexier. You can grind on a chair or lean on a bed, or do floor work. Floor work is awesome, especially for amateurs — all you have to know how to do is shake you arse and arch your back and just pretend you’re having sex with the floor. Anyone can do it!

“Performing a strip to music and giving a lap dance are two different things. You should probably let your partner know which one you’re planning beforehand so he knows what to expect. On the other hand, it can definitely be fun to combine the two!”

#8 Don’t take forever to get nekkid

“There’s a general rule in strip clubs that your clothes need to be off by the end of the first song, which is about three minutes in. I think that translates pretty well to stripping for your partner. It should only take a few minutes before they are thinking; “Hey, there are boobs in my face!” and “Wow, there’s a vagina!” You need to keep it clicking along at a fast rate so that the fire keeps going.”

#9 Your body is beautiful

“Don’t let your size put you off. Provided you have the confidence, I think any girl can be a great stripper: you just need to be able to move to some extent. There are professional strippers who are rail-thin and there are professional-strippers who have enough booty for three people. Everyone has their favourite type. Remember, your partner wouldn’t be with you if they didn’t find you attractive.”

#10 Just have fun!

“If you’re stripping for your partner, it’s important to get into the mindset that this is a gift for the person you love. You shouldn’t be feeling any pressure. Your boyfriend, or girlfriend, or husband or transgender lover is just going to love the fact that you’re doing it for them and putting all this effort into the relationship.”

And finally, here’s one more tip pulled from personal experience:

Make sure your partner is feeling suitably randy (TMI warning)

When we first started dating, my wife launched into an impromptu striptease which happened to coincide with the onset of food poisoning. I ended up vomiting copiously halfway through her routine. Needless to say, I never got a repeat performance. (Honestly, it’s a wonder we ever got married.)
