xNeat Clipboard Manager Adds Sticky Copies, Google Search To Clipboard
Posted by Kevin Purdy at 12:00 AM on September 24, 2008
Windows only: Free clipboard utility xNeat Clipboard Manager is a lightweight, agile utility for those who do their fair share of text wrangling. Much like other clipboard managers, including ControlC and ClipX, xNeat can track all your copied text, folders, and files, and allow you to call them up again with a keyboard shortcut. xNeat's unique features are allowing you to make certain copies "sticky," so they're always available for quick pasting, and utilising Google to both search and translate copied terms. The big drawback is a lack of image handling, available in similar products, but for those shuffling around a good deal of text, xNeat draws a tiny amount of memory for a helpful function. xNeat Clipboard Manager is a free download for Windows systems only.

How about "Best Clipboard manager" for a Hive Five topic?

This sounds really good. I'm loving ClipX though and if I'm not going to use the sticky feature I wonder if it's worth switching...Hive Five!!

ClipX seem more lightweight and the latest beta (that I've had NO problems with) has the sticky feature. ClipX also has a x64 version and plugins.

I've been using the Ditto Clipboard manager. I'm not sure exactly how it compares to this one, but it is definitely capable of making groups of clips, e.g. for responding quickly to email. Also, you can search through your saved clips.

@umbrau44: +1 for Ditto. I've been using it for a couple of months now and I love it. Does everything I need...makes certain copies "sticky" and has global hotkeys for the last 10 copies. It has been officially integrated into my workflow.
PS. It's portable too.

It's been mentioned much earlier on LH, but for similar functionality on Linux, there's Klipper.
(Klipper even allows you to use regular expression so when you copy smtg that matches it, it runs some action, like launch your mail app etc.).

Copy and Paste is probably the single most frustrating thing in Windows...This little program gives users the opportunity to add multiple items to the clipboard. I think it works great.
