iPhone Remote App Updates, Supports Genius
Posted by Adam Pash at 9:30 AM on September 17, 2008
The iPhone Remote App has updated to support Genius playlists, streamline speaker switching, and update the UI to match the iPhone 2.1 software update. If you've been using your iPhone as a multi-room wireless music remote, you'll definitely want to grab the latest from the iTunes App Store.

@Charging_Mooses: I've got no complaints. It does digital out on the AirPort, so it should be fine. You can read a lot of comments about the set up in that original post.

@psn: You can do it from the now playing screen now rather than from the settings... just a bit more accessible. Tap the Now Playing screen and you'll see the Speakers bar like in the screenshot.

is it just me or did they remove AirTunes functionality in this release? i swear i could turn off/on my airport express's audio output with it before...

@Adam Pash: perfect... my main worry was the setup... now i have no reason to hesitate, except that i will pay about 500 dallers for this contraption.

@Charging_Mooses: I have this setup.. and I love it. Absolutely love it. I used to have a netgear streaming box - but it blew (needed its own shitty program running to be able to serve the media). The airport and ipod/iphone setup is hands down the most kick ass.

Now if I could only get remote app to WORK on my setup. No amount of port-forwarding and firewall disabling has done the trick so far. :(

@icedicicle: keep iTunes ON. I found that out the hard way.
Frickin' sweet. I hope they made it a tad faster...I dont' wanna wait for my music to pop up.
