8Tracks Creates Virtual Mix Tapes

Web-based service 8tracks remixes 30-minute MP3 playlists for personal listening or sharing with friends. 8Tracks offers all of the basic functionality of previously covered Muxtape, with the additional ability to add artwork and information about the mix itself. Users can browse others' mixes, comment, and view mixes sorted by popularity and freshness. Here is a sample mix I enjoyed listening to while reviewing the site:

How long until this is closed too?
I miss the scrobbling ability of Muxtape; I could go days discovering music going random or followers mixes. *sighs*

Much better, free, and legal music listening that you can customize yourself. No commercials. Not limited to any track or time limit.
Wow pandora is much better than 8tracks.
Albeit, there are mostly only mainstream artists on pandora..

It looks like it has more features than Muxtape. I really like the search, I always wish Mux had that. Thanks for the recommendation.

I love the whole retro-nostalgic feel of creating an online mixtape. Reminds me of the old days of taping songs off the radio. I actually found some of those tapes recently. It was very important for me to get I'm Too Sexy by Right Said Fred apparently. Good times.
