NowDoThis Assigns You One Task at a Time
Posted by Tamar Weinberg at 1:00 AM on August 4, 2008
Webapp NowDoThis displays the most important item on your to-do list in a clean and simple interface. Hit the "done" button and NowDoThis shows you the next most important item. To get started, enter your to-do list into NowDoThis' simple text area in order of importance, as shown. Save your list and NowDoThis (otherwise known as "the boss") will spit out the most important directive. Press the "done" button and NowDoThis displays the next one. When your list is complete and the boss has nothing to yell back at you, you can feel like you've accomplished something. NowDoThis is extremely simple, especially for those 3-4 most important tasks of the day; it's one of the most basic (yet useful) to-do lists I've ever seen. Thanks, Mark!

Now this is really straightforward. It evens save my session so even after I restart my browser, my list of to-do is still there.
It's really simple, perhaps so simple that I'm starting to think why not just use the pen and paper where the idea for this webapp originated.
just my 2 cents.

This is sweet. I could imagine a little tray-app that uses Samurize to display the top most item on screen, with a Click on the icon to move to the next item.

This would be really useful as a web-app for the iPhone/iPod Touch or a proper App for the iPhone/iPod Touch.
Might be kind of redundant, but it's a good idea.

I LOVE THIS. Just cleaned my whole house using it.
@dealt: I think the key for me is that I'm not distracted by the next item on the list (look! bright light!), so pen/paper wouldn't have the same effect.

@dealt: I'm always losing my paper lists but have yet to misplace my pc, so I think I may just give this one a go. Yes, I know... I'll probably get burgled tonight!

this is great - I load it in the firefox sidebar and it's a constant reminder of what i need to be doing instead of messing about on the internet!
(If you don't know how to load pages in the sidebar, FF3 lets you do this by bookmarking the page, then press CTRL+SHIFT+B to organize bookmarks, then find out where you've saved the bookmark. Click "more" and select "Load this bookmark in sidebar." Voila, persistent (yet closeable) sidebar reminders!

I like this, so simple, yet so powerful. Perfect.
Okay, now I can mark done on my first item - Comment on Lifehacker.

You gotta love apps with self-explanatory names. This is one of the better ideas I've seen -- I'm loving the simple interface and session-saving.

Hmmm... at first I thought "what a stupid idea". Then I load it into a sidebar and thought... "what a fantastic idea!" lol

And, if you use a tool like that found at [www.httrack.com] you can download a local copy so you don't have to be online! :)

Lists are very powerful. You know that.
Lists provide a targeted way to accomplish goals - short, medium and long term. We all know this, so why don't we use lists more? Do you have daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, 5/10 year lists. Why not?
Lists help you recall important and trivial things to accomplish like "Find passport" (short term) or "Travel the world" (life goal).
Written lists provide a powerful feedback - the check or crossthru line that says - Done, Task Completed, Good Job.
Whether the list item is "find a wife or husband" OR "vacuum da house", checking accomplishments off feels good.
Prioritizing a list is just as important. Prioritized lists are almost as important as daily reviewing your short, medium and long term lists is. Doing something that isn't on one of those lists? Why? Get focused!
Pardon me, my daily list says "mow the yard", "go hiking", then "Build xen DomU for Zimbra server".

I combined this with Prism, and it works excellently!

site seems to be down? I get a 'error loading page'. Doesnt look like the recent sitemeter error, either.
Funnily tho, the cached page on google search, is itself fully functional.
