Convert all types of video files like AVI, DivX, XVID, FLV, X264, VOB, MPEG, and DVDs into a format that your iPhone 3G can play (that is, MPEG-4, H.264). Videora iPhone 3G Converter is a free download for Windows, and requires the .NET framework to run. For more on video conversion, check out our top 10 free video rippers, encoders, and converters.

Yes, we need more iPod touch posts to balance out the iPhone posts. Thank you very much! ;-)

I agree with Jon Karak. Enough iphone posts already. Not everyone is a mac/apple/iphone/stevejobs head.

This software does in fact work. But it has a TON of ad space supporting it. As you pick options, they make you go to multiple pages to start a conversion that could have been selected from a single window.

If you don't like the iPhone/Touch posts then just scroll past them. The fact that you're taking even more of your time to post about it is baffling. Do you write to magazines you read about articles you don't like? Personally, I like the posts and for posts on other topics I don't like I just don't read them. Problem solved!!

Hey, you also don't have to read/comment to every iPhone story either. Some people, *cough* me, like to hear of applications that make my life easier... pretty sure that's the point of this website anyways. If your Zune needed an app like this I'd welcome it to the site.

I wonder why people take the time to be iTrolls. Do they think of themselves as noble crusaders against obscene iConsumerism? Or is it the constant reminder of a product, that they want, but is too much effort to justify acquiring? They definitely seem to have some iAngst. May I suggest some therapy to sooth your iOCD.
BTW, I've used Videora and it works well, but the ads are extremely annoying. Makes me think about taking the time to look for a free, open source trans-coding option.

If you don't want to read the iPhone posts then please just ignore them and/or filter them out. There are many of us that look forward to them and appreciate them.

Come on, LH, why don't you just spin off an iPhoneHacker site and let people who were smart enough not to get one pretend the rest of you don't exist?

This program is pretty nice. It's a little annoying that the program is full of ads and such, but it's nothing you can't overlook for the ability to put a full season of Scrubs on your iPod Touch. The website allows you to pick what you'll be playing the converted videos on, so that you only download that portion of the program, making the footprint extremely small. You can choose from iPods, iPhones, iPod Touches, and more. As I've said, I've converted many videos and uploaded them to an iPod Touch. It takes about 15 minutes for each half hour video, which isn't too bad. You can also queue up videos to be converted, which is nice if you move faster than a no armed man in a sack race. I highly recommend it for its simplicity and effectiveness.

I quite like Vemode for ripping movies to my iPhone. It's freeware, can run from a usb key, has lots of options (if you feel like tinkering around), supports batch conversions & gets the job done. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the market.

The last time I used Videora iPod Converter, one of the banner ads ain it ttempted to install spyware on my PC. It renders the ads through IE's engine, and is thus vulnerable to all the same exploits as IE. A quick end process in task manager removed the offending iexplore process (it hadn't actually installed anything, but the banner ad was creating tons of "CLICK HERE NOW - VIRUS DETECTED" popups, you know the ones where clicking anything attempts a download of some crapware through any means available.) A bit of HOSTS file tweaking and I was able to use Videora again without the threat of imminent infection, but it still annoys me. There is a reason that I use Firefox instead of IE, and also that I block banner ads.
Even if Videora wasn't aware of this problem, anytime that a site runs any code not hosted by itself there is the potential that one of their ad vendors is somewhat unscrupulous and sold ads to the wrong people. A lot of the time a site sells adspace to one company, who then sells it to other comapnies, who sells it again, and finally a spyware jocky buys some space on that rotation. There's no real accountability. If I were to ever run ads on my personal site, I would stick to strictly Google text ads as they will never run any scripts other than Google's own ones for counting clicks etc.
