about:crashes Shows You Every Submitted Firefox Crash

From the files of the Maybe New To You Dept.: While Firefox 3 should be a bit less crash-prone than its predecessor, it isn't bulletproof. Type about:crashes into Firefox's address bar, and you can see a list of your browser crashes, when they happened, and click on them to get details of what happened. Some of the reasons and reports might not be in plain English, but a little copy/paste-to-Google could help diagnose your problems. This will only list the crashes after which you clicked "Submit" on the resulting pop-up, so you might want to think twice before hitting "cancel" after your next sudden failure.

About 90% of the time FF3 crashes for me when loading Gmail. I googled it and a bunch of other pple are having the same problem.
Checked the extensions and that's not it. I hear it's something having to do with loading Ajax sites.
I really need a fix

@Ghostlove: Same here.
On Ubuntu Firefox crashes on random occasions when loading Flash, even with Flash10 beta2 (though it's a lot more stable than Flash9).
I also notice that when I visit Facebook than the cpu usage of my computer skyrockets. I believe it's the chat bar that does it but it's very annoying as it slows things down and causes the fans to blare inside my laptop.

FF3 crashes consistently when accessing MS technet account. The FF3 beta version did not crash on accessing but i had to (1)start the downloader manually and (2)could not use the (incredibly awful) technet browse panel. (ps i did use the IE compatibility "User Agent Switcher")
so i use IE7 for my occasional MS access and FF3 for everything else - no real problem.

FF3 has crashed a couple times for me, instantaneously closing. No reports were generated.

I found out about this last week typing random crap in
Too bad 80% of the time FF3 crashes for me, that dialog with the mozilla bug report doesn't show up and only shows the "Firefox has closed unexpectedly" or that DEP dialog crap. :| I wish I could have logged all the crashes.

I ahven't had FF3 crash yet. But whenever FF2 crashed for me, if I submitted a report there'd be an 80% chance of the report-sending-program crashing, which had a, oh, 40% chance of crashing my entire computer.

Second that problem on Ubuntu. I often open many tabs in a short amount of time and I've had it where one page in that whole list would cause the browser to segfault. So when I restart, I restore my tabs (don't want to lose what I was doing), and I have to as quickly as possible (before the offending page loads completely), try to stop every tab from loading completely before it crashes my browser.
This page was the culprit just last night:
[www.hecklerspray.com]
(might be interesting if it crashes anyone elses machines?)

@ostracize: (and ChefReinhold)
I had a lot of issues with Flash on Ubuntu (including almost every time I went to Youtube). Flashblock seems to have solved the problem for now, but I hope it gets fixed soon.
Also, for those who can't get about:crashes to come up, you may not have the Feedback Agent installed (which is presumably where the page gets its info from).

After entering about:crashes in the browser, it reads:
"No crash reports have been submitted."
I love FF3!

Maybe this will help some of you with crashes... if you have Google Gears installed, see if disabling it fixes the issue.
I experienced a *lot* of crashes immediately after upgrading to FF3, most especially on some Google sites and on RememberTheMilk. After a little poking around, I found it seemed to be related to Google Gears. Since I disabled the extension a few weeks ago, I've yet to have another crash.
Anyone else had similar results?

Man, FF3 crashed so much for me. I loved the new features I was using with it, but it wasn't worth it. I downgraded to FF2 after about two weeks of experiencing 20+ crashes a day. Some of these brought up the crash message, some just bugged out and vista said so. Whenever I tried to send info about the crash, it would never submit. I uninstalled every single addon I had, and it still did it. It did seem to do it most with my gmail account though more than anything. I too load like six tabs when I open up my firefox, so every time it crashed, I'd have to rush to close certain ones to avoid starting the process over. I'd really like to go back to ff3 though.

100 crashes since launch day and rising. I use iGoogle as a gateway to my sights so I'm constantly there, seems to crash more consistently w/google than anywhere else.

@ChefReinhold: Odd, I haven't had those issues on Ubuntu Hardy. I had an issue when running the 64-bit version where the Flash plugin would simply fail to load, but even this has gone away since I went back to the 32-bit version.
Best thing I can suggest is, run Firefox from a terminal window, and try to replicate the crash. Your terminal output can be useful for diagnosing the issue. Copy and paste the error messages into Google; if that gets you no joy, post about it on a site like [www.ubuntuforums.org]
Another thing I can suggest is uninstall Flash Player and install SWFdec; performance and compatibility aren't quite the same as the official one, but it's more stable

So I am not the only one that cant use FF3 for more than 5 minutes without it crashing. I ditched it rather quickly in favor of Opera 9.5 + Ad Muncher. I do miss the web dev toolbar and cs lite...

Quite odd how some of you are getting crashes, I regularly use Google as well (only web search mind you). But what I did was not upgrade FF2 to FF3, I used a new Installation directory and created a new profile and imported my bookmarks from FF2, and imported passwords using the Password Exporter extension. I couldn't do cookies but Password Manager remembered my account names for sites I have an account at anyway. Its best to start over clean since apparently old about:config tweaks and other settings of any sort in your FF2 profile gets carried over to FF3 during the upgrade from what I hear.
Might also want to check your RAM is up to scratch too with memtest, good RAM can go bad over time.
