Outstanding. My favorite Gmail plugin just got that much better.

Thanks Gina! Do you think there's a way you can include Gmail Full Width into a future version of Better Gmail 2?
Here's the link:

I find I really miss it ever since upgrading to FF3RC1 and being unable to use greasemonkey properly.

Can download via IE7 and then install in FF. IE7 being an enabler...I may have to sit down.

@mexman, I'm getting the same error from the DL, and the mirror. FF 2.0.0.14.

Is it just me getting download errors from Firefox whenever I try to install the Better Gmail or Better GReader extensions from Lifehacker?
I consistently get this error message:
"Firefox could not install the file at
[secure.ginatrapani.org]
because: Download error
-228"
Is there a setting I'm missing?

@Chris - Thanks, I should've thought of that!

I updated to the new version and noticed a couple things:
1. The "Show CC" and "Show BCC" things do not appear to work. Do these rely on having something else installed?
2. This has existed ever since I have used the Redesigned Skin -- (a) if you hide the spam count, it also hides the icon for the folder and (b) the line across the top stops when it gets to my gmail name, etc. -- looks sloppy.

@jkrell:
I am using the new skin and CC and BCC work perfectly, have you set it up under your "Better GMail 2" options?
My does the same thing with the folder and the bar across the top, but not really a big deal. I don't care for the spam count, never the less for missing the little icon folder.

"Do you think there's a way you can include Gmail Full Width into a future version of Better Gmail 2?"
@Kevinpalooza: I would, except that it removes ads, which breaks Gmail's Terms of Service, and I want to avoid that. :(
"Oh how I miss floating signature.
Please? "
@gpzbc: I haven't seen it for the new Gmail interface, have you? If you hook me up with the script, I'll include it.
"Is it just me getting download errors from Firefox whenever I try to install the Better Gmail or Better GReader extensions from Lifehacker?"
@mexman: I've heard a few reports of this but I can't replicate it. Does the mirror link not work either? Mozilla Add-ons just approved the new version, so it's available to download there too.
"The "Show CC" and "Show BCC" things do not appear to work."
@jkrell: Automatic or by key combination?
"if you hide the spam count, it also hides the icon for the folder and (b) the line across the top stops when it gets to my gmail name, etc. -- looks sloppy. "
@antonio: Yeah, those are two separate scripts that weren't coded to work together, sadly.

Unfortunately, it looks like there's an incompatibility between Better Gmail 2 and the Remember the Milk Gmail extension. If I have them both enabled, RTM doesn't show up in my inbox except for very occasionally and randomly when I refresh, and when I disable Better Gmail 2, it does. I'm on a Mac, and I do have other extensions installed, but none that are Gmail-specific. I've noticed a couple threads about it in RTM's forums, such as this one:
Personally I've tried shutting off the various scripts in Better Gmail until I was down to none, and the problem persisted. I'm guessing there's something about the order in which various extensions and scripts are processed that is at fault, but I have no idea how to verify that.

@Gina Trapani: Gina, I got the same errors using the mirror. This happened last week when you released the previous version of this and Better GReader. It's usually after you first post it, then later it will work. No worries tho, just downloaded in IE and installed.
Thanks for a great extension!

Gina, I'm not seeing the filter by email address to the right of the star (the thing you click on to find the conversations by the same person) . . . was that eliminated?

@jasonclarke: I have the same problem, using FF 3 RC 2 and Better Gmail 2 0.5 and the RTM extension (on WinXP SP 2). For me, so far, it seems to happen when I enable either of the macro options -- from that point onwards the RTM box disappears. I haven't had a chance to test it extensively to see if other options cause RTM to break on my setup.

Just tried rolling back to Better Gmail 2 0.4, but having exactly the same problems. Mac and Windows, I can confirm now. And I can't seem to get any consistency with respect to which BG2 features are enabled that cause the problem. The only way I can ensure that the RTM sidebar shows up (and that the BG2 features work) is to disable BG2. And I *really* don't want to do that.
So to clarify, when the sidebar for RTM doesn't show up, it also appears that none of the features in BG2 actually work.

I have noticed that the problem goes away if I turn off the option to use a secure connection (and manually choose http instead of https). In my previous tests even though I had turned off the "Force secure connection", I was still manually going to the https address. Going to http resolves the issue, aside from the fact that it's not possible to use a secure connection with both of these extensions installed. Hope this helps.

@juliarh: Gina deleted One Click Conversations.
If you want it, you have to go to the source and install it with greasemonkey: [userscripts.org]

Massive memory leaks with FF3RC2 & Better Gmail enabled. Anyone else having this issue?
