Email This! Sends Selected Text via Right-Click
Posted by Kevin Purdy at 10:06 PM on June 2, 2008
Windows/Mac/Linux (Firefox): If you find yourself regularly selecting, copying, and then pasting text from your browser into emails, Email This! is a definite time saver. A right-click (or toolbar) menu lets you directly compose a new Gmail, Yahoo, or Google Apps web mail message with the selected text, or pass it into a mail client like Thunderbird or Outlook. Those options can be added to or whittled down, and helpful shortcuts (Alt+G for Gmail) makes text sending even quicker. Email This! is a free add-on, and works wherever Firefox does.

This is so funny. I was just emailing with the author of this extension. It wasn't working with Firefox 3 beta 5, so I requested he update it... and he did! It now works with Firefox 3.0.x. I love this extension and use it every day.

I want an extension that would mail the page instead of just the link, as in how Google Reader works.

Maybe I am missing something... This extension works fine when I right click on a link, but when I use the shortcut (Alt-G) nothing happens. Any ideas?

It works perfectly, but if you use Gmail Manager (Great extension, BTW.), you will need to click on the GM account that you want to use first, then 'Email This' on the page that you want to send, to get it to use the right account. That is still faster than without the 'Email This' extension, but it is something to keep in mind.
