Senuti Copies Music from Your iPhone or iPod Touch to Your Mac
Posted by Gina Trapani at 7:30 AM on May 30, 2008
Mac only: The newest beta release of Senuti—a utility that copies music from your iPod to your computer—now supports the iPhone and iPod touch. Just install Senuti on your Mac, hook up your iPhone or iPod touch, and the Senuti beta will list all the songs on the device and place a blue dot next to songs that already exist in your iTunes library. Select the songs you want and press the Transfer button to copy them to your Mac. The touch-friendly Senuti version is a beta, but it worked like a charm on the one iPhone I tested it on. Senuti is a free download for Mac only; be sure to hit the beta link lower on the homepage for iPhone and iPod touch support. Thanks, smackswell!

Sounds awesome. Now if only I could find something through all the junk-ware that works on windows.

"also the dmg file is corrupt "
@Gonzie: Huh? I just installed and used this today, prior to writing it up.

it would also be nice if the guy put up a .dmg file rather than BZ2 file which defeats the point of the disk image.
also the dmg file is corrupt

looks pretty sweet, hope the "blue dot next to songs that already exist in your iTunes library" works better than it did the last time i tried this program. if it plays music from the ipod good i might consider using it further

Nice! Not having foxmarks was the only thing keeping me back at Firefox2

I've been using this for a while as well.
After trying several different applications that claim to do the same thing, I have found that this one does it the most reliably and smoothly, and has the nicest GUI.
The name is clever too, if you think about it.

Here's a little hint:
If you are trying to use Senuti with an iPhone or an iPod touch, you have to use the beta release.
You can download it right below the Senuti logo on the original link!

OFFtopic:
Gina, cool music you have there. Nice to see other Cake lovers (the band, not the food...oh wait, the food is nice too!).
ONtopic:
this is a start, but does anybody know of a solution to play the music on your iPhone/iPod touch on someone else's Mac (or PC, for that matter)?
I took my new iPod touch with me to a friend, wanted to let him listen to some music I recently discovered, but in first instance his iTunes didn't recognise my Ipod at all, later it did but all the music on it was greyed out, so it could not be played.
Is there a way to play this music (preferably without installing something on the other person's computer or without the need to transfer the music to their computer, like with this Senuti app)?

ok seeing as there is a different and probably newer version of this program on macupdate rather than the authors own site, i've finally managed to get a copy.

We are building a religion.
We are building it bigger.
We are widening the corridor.
And adding more lanes.
