freshAIRapps Lists and Reviews Adobe AIR Apps
Posted by Kevin Purdy at 7:15 AM on May 14, 2008
If you've been tinkering with (or just thinking about) Adobe's multi-system AIR platform and wondering if any apps are worth your time, James Whittaker has made the answer much easier to find with freshAIRapps. The directory offers ratings and reviews of many new and new-to-AIR apps, including:
- Twhirl, a desktop Twitter client.
- Doominow, a slick-looking to-do list.
- MuxMaster, a Cover Flow-inspired browser for web mixtape builder Muxtape.

Website is dead right now.
But since I already love Adobe Air apps and use them quite often I want to share some I have already downloaded and are useful:
1. AirTube - Download Youtube videos to your desktop
2. RichFLV - Edit and convert FLV files
3. Pownce client - To post files and messages to Pownce
4. Twhirl - Twitter client already mentioned
5. ColorFinder - Search ColourLover's website for color palettes.
6. Adobe Media Player - For watching tv shows and video podcasts.
7.

@All: True enough about the site being down. I'll check back every so often, and update if it appears to be dead for a long haul.

besides some of the ones already mentioned, i kind of like shifD for simple notes and addresses (including mapping). it also manages links, though i get more out of an app/add on like foxmarks.
overall it's easy to use, accessible from anywhere and has a nice, neat interface.

I use meebone at work. We block IM protocols and I dont usually like to leave my browser open so this is useful to me. Downfall is that its a memory hog. Almost up there with firefox.

Hah - that's funny that the site is down now that everyone's flooding over to it.
I'm a big fan of Doominow, although it's somewhat unfortunately named. I'd love to see the developer encorporate some kind of to-do list centralization, so I can see the same tasks on my laptop as I do on my desktop; that'd make it killer for me. Not that it's not good on it's own - it's pretty much a no-frills-yet-still-attractive to-do list app, which is really cool.

Site is back up - and there is an apology for the outage as well.
Looks pretty informative. Lots of interesting apps. Thanks for the tip Kevin!

I had no idea there was a way to download Muxtape tracks for free. That's gotta be super illegal, as opposed to the minor illegal muxtape.com would be according to the RIAA.
Someone posted an alternative in the comments but I'm sure posting it on Lifehacker would get it shut down.
