@fishlips: I don't know if the service has changed at all, but you can totally edit your list whenever you choose!

When you choose your shows and click to create the feed, you get two links - one for the actual feed, and another to add to your bookmarks in case you want to come back and edit the feed by adding or removing shows. :)

I tried this tool out before. Not bad.

The biggest problem for those suffering from "couch-potato-ism" is that once you create your long and elaborate RSS feed with all of your shows, it isn't editable.

Find another gem-of-a-show? You need to redefine all your other shows.

I think this site is great - but the implementation login names (saving user choices/shows/preferences) would make this a little more user friendly.

Overall, Thumbs Up - it's better than scanning public google calendars, hoping that 16-year-old-OCD-high-school-kid-who-has-published-a-calendar-with-your-show has updated their calendar properly.

I use [www.pogdesign.co.uk] . I"m not sure if it has RSS but it displays all the shows you pick in a monthly calendar fashion and if you set up a free account, you can access your calendar anywhere. It even lets you check off shows you've watched (click on the > symbol)

tvRSS.net (my site) is still better as it doesn't rely on a pre-compiled list of TV shows. It parses the title from the release itself.

If it's truly required I can enable a feature that will allow you to build a feed with multiple show names...

@alienvenom: One big difference though is that mytvrss is not about torrents. tvrss.net is specifically for torrent downloaders (and it does that job very well) but mytvrss is for people who just want to keep track of their shows.

My suggestion is the previously mentioned www.pogdesign.co.uk with a very very useful addition. You can download an ical file of your shows. Even more useful, you can use the ical download link as a calendar to subscribe to in google calendar. I've got all my shows in gcal, in a different color and I can see what's on, and when it's on.

I can also see my wife's shows so I can plan when I need to get to the TV first.

I just want my DVR to be smarter. We had a power outage in the middle of Lost last night, and what had been recorded was lost. I had to watch it online today. (The new stream viewer they use now doesn't support SeaMonkey, damn it, but that's another issue.)

What I would like is for my DVR to recognize when a recording has failed and automatically look for the episode's next available showing, on whatever channel it finds it.

@Robin Hood: How did you manage to subscribe to it in gcal? I can add it to gcal, but it only adds the current episodes. So basically say next month I don't think it'll update. Anyway to have it automatically update?

@abhiroop: I use firefox, so here's the commands used for that browser. You might need to adjust approprietly for your browser of choice.

First, log in to your account at pogdesign, and right-click on the "Download ical file." You'll want to select "Copy link location." We just need the url for the ical file. For your account, that URL never changes. Then jump over to gcal and select "Add" in the box of calendars on the left, and in the dropdown, select "add by url."

Paste in the URL you got from pogdesign, click "Add" and you should be good to go.

Thanks perfect! But I realised that I have so many events on gcal already I'd rather view it separately on CAT anyway! This is so useful! I would use wiki and look through each one before.

Great link, but I think that www.tvrage.com is even more powerful. You can list your favorite shows, see the latest episode name and date, the same for the next one.

And it has iCal, RSS and XML feeds !

Of all the options so far, mytvrss was the only one that didn't actually work in iGoogle. Bummer.

Lots of different options between all the different websites listed. RSS, calendar, "watched" flag, new/rerun.

I agree, I wish my DVR were just smarter. Or that TV execs would stop shuffling shows around. How's anyone supposed to keep up? Maybe time to fire up uTorrent...
