Klok Tracks Time and Projects Simply
Posted by Kevin Purdy at 1:10 AM on May 9, 2008
Windows/Mac/Linux (Adobe Air): Klok, a free time and project-tracking app for the Adobe Air platform, is a great time-tracking solution for multi-platform users, as well as anyone who likes to keep it simple. Simple projects allow you to simply create and describe time entries on a drag-and-adjust grid, or use a template like "Web project" to automatically create sub-categories of HTML, design, text, and the like. You can also use Klok as a work timer using the "Work On" button, and export reports and invoices for clients. Klok is a free download for any system running the Adobe Air platform.

I've become hooked on ToDoList

Super flexible and great export options!

klok rocks! nice looking intuitive interface and easy to use overall. I've been using it for over a month now and it keeps my project hours very organized. Dragging the start stop tabs are a little finicky and imprecise though...

I concur. I use klok at work and just started making use of the comment section to write down job numbers. Very cool app. Exporting excel spreadsheets is ACE!!

This is really clean. Also worth a mention here is Cashboard [www.getcashboard.com], which allows you to enter in estimates, individual tasks with min/max times in the estimates, time your work, send invoices.. like Klok, specifically geared toward freelance professionals!

Hmmm... this seems like an interesting way to keep track of time. I'm going to start running this and see if it's a tool I can use for my freelance work.

I just used klok to help me track one of my projects today - and blogged about it here -- http://webpoet.wordpress.com/2008/05/09/project-3-is-ticking/

I found that Klok looks pretty slick, but is a little buggy (esp. with the close/minimize buttons).
An alternative program, running on AIR, that is a little more robust with expense tracking, report exporting, extensive configuration dialogs, use of webcam for capturing receipts, and a cleaner layout is John Wu's Ora Time.
