PicLens Updates with YouTube, Firefox 3 Support
Posted by Kevin Purdy at 12:00 AM on May 8, 2008
Windows/Mac (Firefox and IE7): PicLens, the Firefox and Internet Explorer 7 plug-in that lets you flip through photo sets in full-screen splendour, just added YouTube support to its latest version. That means searching and parsing through YouTube videos in the same elegant interface as with photos, making it far easier to spot just the clip you're looking for, and playing the videos, full-screen or reduced size, from inside PicLens. The latest version is available for Firefox 2 and 3 Beta 5 on Windows and Mac, as well as Internet Explorer 7 on Windows, and is a free download. (Original PicLens post).

I've been using PicLens for a few months to search for pictures to go with daily scripture verses for a Christian blog I maintain & it has been a great tool.
Youtube is a natural extension.
Thumbs up!

I hope you haven't been hotlinking, because that's not the Christian way. :D lol

PicLens is great, but my biggest pet peev is that once you find something you like, and click through, you lose your search!
You think they'd offer an 'option' to open silently in a 'New Tab' as to not disrupt your picture/video searching goodness, but not so much.
Be, we can hope!

@savedsoul: Yeah. I installed it and like it, but that's the one thing I don't like. But I can live with it, for now.

I really love PicLens and it has been part of the reason I have not even bothered to install FF on my mac. I hope it is not too hard to get youtube support for the Safari version...

If you like Piclens, and if you're also a movie buff, here's a freeware that uses Piclens 3D wall to display your DVD collection, your favorite movies & series, your favorite actors, etc... It also uses the latest PicLens feature to find videos on YouTube (trailers, interviews, making of, alternate scenes, spoofs, etc...) www.coollector.com
