MagToo Stitches Panoramas Together Online for Sharing
Posted by Kevin Purdy at 10:35 PM on May 8, 2008

Looking for an easy way to stitch together a cluster of photos you took of that great vacation scene? MagToo, a free online panorma-sharing service, offers a free online tool to create 360-degree panoramas (or more simple wide-angle stitches) and share them from a flash applet on its site or embedded on another. As the Digital Inspiration blog points out, you have to use Internet Explorer 7 to create the panoramas in MagToo's ActiveX app, but the Flash-based viewers can be seen in any browser. For a guide to creating high-quality stitches yourself, check out our guide to panorama-stitching with free software.

This seems cool. I used Canon's bundled Photo Stitch software to create a stitched photo of one of the NCAA finals games and it came out pretty good.

PLEASE don't link to sites that play music when you load them up!

I might check this out since I am a huge autostitch fan. Still, the previous posters make it sound annoying. Embedded music and IE-only sites make Homer something....something....

Canon's stitch software is pretty good - i used it when I got my first Elph.
Nowadays I use Photoshop's built-in photomerge. File->Automate->Photomerge.

My Sony Ericsson W880i has this feature built in, though, it's limited to three pictures.

This has freely been available for a long time through Windows Live Photo Gallery. The stitching algorithm they're using is the most advanced I've seen by far.
You can stitch across and vertically, or in any random order. Also, you don't have to line the photos up. You just give it all the pics, and it finds the overlap and stitches it for you. I've used it as my substitute for having a wide angle lens. Strange to see the coolness coming from Microsoft. :-)
