Delish Manages and Thumbnails Your Del.icio.us Bookmarks
Posted by Adam Pash at 6:00 AM on May 8, 2008
Mac OS X only: Browse your Del.icio.us bookmarks like never before with freeware beta application Delish. URLs weren't mean to be viewed as text, according to the minds behind Delish, so the software provides a visual interface for your bookmarks by creating thumbnail snapshots of all the links, which it displays in an attractive, easy-to-use interface. Delish even supports multi-touch pinch and scroll gestures for owners of new MacBook Pros and Airs—though unfortunately you can't create a new bookmark with it. Delish is currently freeware, Mac OS X only.

If they manage to get some functionality into this it will be awesome. I have been culling my del.icio.us bookmarks over the last few months and its such a chore via either the website or the firefox plugin. Using this would be much easier. Installed and definitely one to watch.

I like the way Adam states, "Delish is currently freeware". Burned one too many times by the Lifehacker Effect?*
[*Application mentioned on Lifehacker which, after a few thousand downloads, suddenly goes from freeware to $$].

Opps, I think you have to click the Sync button each time in order for the thumbnails to appear. My bad.

Nice, but is there a reason why so many of thumbnails are not downloading for my links? And why doesn't del.ici.ous have this thumbnail display embedded within the site for every member? It has it on their own page.

Good idea! I just tag stuff on del.icio.us but there's no handy way to browse; their interface is clunky. So basically I store stuff but never go back and look at it. This should help, at least when I'm home instead of at work.
Anyone know, does it let you export your bookmarks into a file that you can then import back into Firefox?

Here is a nice Dock icon replacement for the God awful one that the developer has used...

Umm, the first time I ran this, it put up a full screen advertisement... or so I think, I can't repeat it, can anyone else comment on this?
So far so good, its exactly what I need for del.icio.us.

Comment on Delish Manages and Thumbnails Your Del.icio.us Bookmarks I'll be watching this one with interest, at least until Delicious introduces batch editing. In the meantime, I've been batch editing my bookmarks using the trial version of WebNoteHappy http://www.happyapps.com/webnotehappy
