I used the Gmail script linked in the post to create a Prism desktop webapp that is easily indexed with Launchy. You just plug in the URL used in the Gmail script in Prism, create your 'compose' webapp and your set.

I use the batch scripts here: [lifehacker.com] to Twit Sandy straight from Launchy. I do the same for GCal and RTM. Just "sandy" [tab] whatever I want [enter] and it's all done. Much faster than waiting for Outlook or GMail to load a compose window.

I use Jott to update my Google Calendar, make a blog post or send quick text messages hands free while driving.

Following your link to other Outlook switches, I found this one to add tasks directly into Outlook :

/c ipm.task /a

I'm sure I'm missing something here, but alas, I'm not finding any help on Google.

When creating the runner command :

- Does everything go under 'programs' column? ("filepath to outlook.exe" followed by the switch?)
- Does the filepath need to be in quotes?
- Does anything go in the 'Arguments' column? Like just the switch? Or any $$ symbols for input?
- I added the /a after the first switch thinking this would add the text I type as a new task in Outlook.

I've tried different combinations of the above to no avail. The best I've done is to get an error message in Outlook (so at least my filepath is right!)

Can anyone point out what I'm doing wrong?

@Bretter: Place the path to Outlook.exe in the "Programs" column without quotes. Enter any switches into the "Arguments" column.

Examples (enter all the following in the "Arguments" without the quotes. Each has a suggested name.):

"/c ipm.note" creates a blank message

"/c ipm.note /m youraddress@youraccount.iwantsandy.com" creates a pre-addressed message to Sandy

"/c ipm.note /m $$" creates a message addressed to whomever you put after pressing the tab key in Launchy.

"/c ipm.task" creates a blank task

"/c ipm.task /a C:\mydoc.txt" creates a blank task with a document attached

etc...

@Bretter: All the switches need to be put into the arguments column. Only the quoted path to the exe should be in the programs column. If you want to be able to put text in and /a works, then put $$ after the /a. I have not tested /a so I don't know if it works.

I haven't had to put quotes around the path in the Program column so far.

All the switches go in the "Arguments" column and are also unquoted.

The /a switch attaches a file and I haven't been able to get it to do anything else. The /m switch can be used with e-mails to add a recipient. Example: to create a prenamed task with a document attached use the following set of switches:

/c ipm.note /a c:\doc.txt /m them@theirs.com

If you want to specify the attachment and the recipient in the Launchy window that would the switches to:

/c ipm.note /a $$ /m $$

I tried it out and it doesn't appear that the /a or /m switches work with the /c ipm.task switch. :(

With all the cutting and pasting, I noticed that I was keeping a space just b/f the switch. Didn't need that.

I can live w/out the /a.
