Win an Autographed Copy of Upgrade Your Life with Your Best Life Hack
Posted by Gina Trapani at 2:30 AM on March 15, 2008

I'm sitting here next to a stack of the new Lifehacker book, Upgrade Your Life, and it's time to start clearing out this joint, signing these puppies and giving them away! Send us your best life hack—organisational strategy, computer tip, DIY project—and earn a chance to have one of these books signed and shipped to your door. Email us your submission to bookcontest at lifehacker.com and over the next couple of weeks, we'll feature the best hacks here on the site, and give the winners an autographed copy of the book. Get more details after the jump.
- Your hack submission can be something that we've featured here on the site before, but offer some new take on it or material along with it—like pictures or a video clip. Show us your Hipster PDA, your DIY cable catcher, that AppleScript you hacked together which helps you get dressed in the morning. The only requirement is that the material is yours.
- Email your photos, video clip, and an explanation of how it all works to bookcontest at lifehacker.com. We won't be able to respond to every submission personally, but if we decide to feature yours, we'll email you back asking for your shipping address to send you your book.
- As always, standard contest rules apply.

Clearly reading Lifehacker has been the lifehack with the largest payout to date completely upgrading my life.

Awesome! It'd be terrific to win one of those, Lifehacker's been an incredible daily resource.

Aww, I was hoping for another scavenger hunt.
I missed out on the first one by 1 tiny issue.
Congrats on your 2nd book!

With a book like that, shouldn't it go to the WORST life hack? :)

@Gina: To quote from the rules - "unless multiple entries are specifically allowed in the contest posting" so I'm guessing I have to pick my very best hack? or can I enter as often as I'd like?

"so I'm guessing I have to pick my very best hack? or can I enter as often as I'd like?"
Seconded.
Also, I wanna know when is the deadline so I could prepare the best images. =P

You can enter as often as you like. Also, the deadline is rolling... basically I'll be accepting submissions until I've given out all 10 books. At most I'll give one out per weekday over the next couple of weeks.

I was hoping an ebook version would be made available for readers, like myself, with limited mobility.

Ok, here's my hack... uses GApps as well.
I do a similar thing with the catch-all. Except when it gets there, it looks for
realname.
So john.whatever@mydomain.com goes to me and jane.whatever@mydomain.com goes to my wife.
Then, any time a site requires me to register, I just create a new email address on the fly... I did it recently when contacting a local Chevrolet dealership... john.chevrolet@mydomain.com. A few weeks later, I start getting email from GM about my dad's Buick (we have the same first name) at john.chevrolet@mydomain.com.
Now, I can see how my address got passed around, and I can build a filter to dump all future mail from john.chevrolet@mydomain.com in the trash.
The nice thing is, there's only the initial setup. After that, it just works.

@Gina:
Is this still on going? I ask because I saw 3 or 4 winner posts but then nothing...Just wondering if I should still be submitting.
