DIY iPod Video Projector
Posted by Adam Pash at 6:00 AM on March 1, 2008
An inventive user on DIY web site Instructables steps through making a DIY iPod video projector using cardboard, a glue gun, mirrors, and gobs of black electrical tape. As you can see in the video above, the final product requires no power, working instead through the magic of light and optics. That also means that you need a dark room for ideal viewing (which is why the projection in the video doesn't look that great), and the guide could be a bit more specific on the setup details, but in all it makes for a great weekend project.

nice... but why do videos like this so often feature a butt-rock soundtrack?
weird.

@thirdopticaltool: It's the only way to convey how incredibly x-treem this cardboard mirror box is. You should see the tricks it can do on a halfpipe.

I may think of trying this if it will work with my Zune... That would be sick. But I guess I don't really need it, my Zune's screen is already big enough!

I don't know if it was the quality of the video but that projected image looked like dog poop. If you want a bigger screen buy an archos 605 or a creative zen vision w. Yeah they are expensive, but hey you get what you pay for.

Yeah... I would probably put the time spent building this into working and making cash monies for a real projector.

Serious. The soundtrack for some guy gluing a mirror into his shoebox should be more along the lines of Starland Vocal Band. Wait, no... some guy in a karaoke bar in Vegas singing Starland Vocal Band.
