Add an Interactive Address Book to your TiddlyWiki with twab
Posted by Kevin Purdy at 3:00 AM on February 27, 2008
One of the best features of keeping a TiddlyWiki with you on any system—such as a GTD TiddlyWiki—is the ability to throw into it anything you come across, whether it's a task to do or a note about dinner. Now you can add organised, easily-imported contacts to that list through twab, a macro that plugs into any Tiddly-type page and can take in contacts from Google, Yahoo, Outlook, and MSN, as well as any others that export into Comma-Separated Value (CSV) format. The tabbed address book comes in a plain gray/dark-gray scheme, but changing those colours—and many more things about twab—is explained at the link below.

@holdemm - make sure you have JavaScript enabled in your browser. TiddlyWiki relies entirely on JavaScript
@thewillum - feel free to contact me directly (my email is on the site) if you need help. If you're familiar with TiddlyWiki already, it should be as easy as importing any and all tiddlers tagged "twab". If you're not familiar with TiddlyWiki there is a GettingStarted section, and I also recommend visiting [www.tiddlywiki.com] for some background.

@vdibart: I keep getting "Error in Macro <<twab>>
Error while executing macro <<twab>>:
No such macro.
I'm getting that for everything... ex. DataTiddlerPlugin gives me
Error in macro <<forEachTiddler>>

@mogwins - This looks like a low-level browser error. What browser/platform are you using? Have you successfully imported tiddlers into tiddlyspot using the same browser/platform previously?

@vdibart - "as easy as importing any and all tiddlers tagged "twab""
Except when I try import from a saved file of twab, I get this error:
[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIXMLHttpRequest.setRequestHeader]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: [mathewjowens.tiddlyspot.com] :: doHttp :: line 7947" data: no]
Any ideas? Thanks!

@vdibart - I'm using Firefox on XP. I've not previously had problems importing tiddlers in this way. However, I'm currently running the wiki from TiddlySpot - I'll try downloading a copy to my local machine and importing that way... Yep, that works! Thanks for your help.

@thewillum - you are importing into an existing TiddlyWiki document or starting fresh? Feel free to email me directly.
