Get Quick, Aggregated BitTorrent Results at PizzaTorrent
Posted by Adam Pash at 7:30 AM on February 18, 2008

New BitTorrent search engine PizzaTorrent is a meta-search engine that scours the most popular public torrent trackers and sorts the results by the health of the torrent. Very similar to previously mentioned YouTorrent, PizzaTorrent adds a nice categories feature that sorts results one step further by the result type, which makes finding that special download that much easier.

Boo, LifeHacker. Yeah, I realize you put a screenshot of a Ubuntu seed up there, but come on ... we all know why BitTorrent has caught on. If someone said "here's how to steal LifeHacker's stories for your own website so you too can run ads and make money", I imagine you wouldn't appreciate it all that much. Or, if I showed people where to download the PDF version of "Upgrade Your Life" by Gina Trapani for free ... I'll bet you would call "foul"!

I think that we need more trackers, not more search engines. Plus, too many of these sites are springing up. There should be a "BitTorrent Search Engine Showdown." Too many sites for one to deal with.

isohunt.com >>>> youtorrent for actually finding things of use. Probably >>>> pizza torrent too.
As the kids say, isohunt.com pwns them all. or isohunt.com FTW
PS- Don't tell anyone about isohunt.com. Else I will have to buy stuff.

I need another tool bar like I need another torrent search engine. All those searches don't mean a thing if no bodies seeding.

Who's to say these great search engines aren't honeypots?
I mean, the Feds or the RIAA could easily put up a search engine and just be gathering data (IP addresses, times and data downloaded) for future legal action.
How do you know you aren't being spied on in a sting operation?

@cerksees: riaa maybe but i really hope the feds have something better to than catch me downloading '3:10 to yuma'. and while its always possible its a honeypot, the people who use these sites are usually savvy enough to spot it before it hits critical mass - i.e. featured on lifehacker. but if you want to be safe, turn off your computer, unplug the internet jack and have the EFF on speed-dial.

@cerksees: you can do that by not downloading illegal stuff...

Yea, I think it's time for a "Bittorrent search Showdown" or something lol.
There's just sooo many.
As far as more trackers...? I don't know, it's hard to say :P I guess it couldn't hurt.
But I sure would be happy with more "seeds" - myself...and not just leeches.
P.S. Wasn't there actually one of these "aggreggator search engines" a while back, that turned out to be used by the RIAA or something....? I cant remember the name, but of course, the word caught on quick by BlueTack, TorrentFreak, p2pnet, etc...and they put the pwnage stick down on 'em in the corner, and they quietly disappeared :P

I love Pizza and I love torrents, -this was a no-brainer! Been using torrent-finder.com for the most part, but this thing includes it in its search, -woot!

I am not too concerned about the number of meta-search engines or trackers, since I am usually able to find everyting I need as it is. Of course, it would be nice to have a haigher seeder:leecher ratio. I don't use torrents as much anyway, since whenever I try to my Charter-provided modem shuts down and has to be reset, so I have to use my neighbor's wifi to get my linux distro fix :).

The missing filter-by-type feature annoyed me about YouTorrent. I switched to PizzaTorrent today the search is much more efficient for me. Now if only people would seed...

They would know you downloaded a torrent, and that's about it... They can hardly prove anything with that...

It is almost identical to Youtorrent except for the categories. Doesnt seem to be as fast as it claims though.

mmm, pizza. del.icio.us'd!
But on a serious note, this one seems to be able to find more of the less popular programs I've been looking for, so I'm for it.

Agreed with everyone that says the layout (and ultimately the entire site) is directly ripped off from YouTorrent, which honestly isn't that great to start with. The real redeeming factor here is the filtering option and I love it. The only real problem is that there's more shitty rap and the like than there is everything else combined. C'est la internets...
